Amara is a Senior Associate in the Planning and Environment, Local Government and Public Sector Team at Harwood Andrews.

Amara specialises in statutory planning, strategic planning, environment protection, heritage, and transport planning matters, and regularly acts for both public and private sector clients.

Amara has legal advocacy experience in a wide range of matters before the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal, Planning Panels Victoria, Advisory Committees, and the Supreme Court of Victoria.

Amara is adept at providing fulsome, considered and practical legal advice in relation to a wide range of planning and environment matters, and regularly prepares and negotiates complex development agreements.

Amara was admitted to practice in 2019. Amara completed her studies at Monash University with a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and Bachelor of Arts.

Amara has been a committee member on the Victorian Planning and Environmental Law Association ‘Young Professionals Group’ for three years.

Amara’s key areas of practice include:

  • Environment protection (including land contamination)

  • Transport planning

  • Heritage planning (local and State significance)

  • Growth area planning, including development and infrastructure contributions
