Harwood Andrews Lawyers has been integral to the development and ongoing operation of the Sunrise Foundation – an initiative of former champion AFL footballer Wayne Schwass.
The Sunrise Foundation aims to educate the community about depression, increase the level of awareness and acceptance of mental illness, and improve help-seeking strategies.
The executive principal of the Harwood Andrews Lawyers Melbourne office, Daniel Smedley, has helped drive the establishment of the charity through the provision of legal advice and the management of its legislative requirements.
Daniel now serves as a non-executive director on the Sunrise Foundation board, with shared responsibility for corporate governance. He has been ably assisted in supporting the Sunrise Foundation by the firm’s lawyers Meagan O’Connor and Todd Smith.
Harwood Andrews Lawyers is also a sponsor of the Sunrise Foundation.
Our commitment to the Sunrise Foundation is part of a broader and meaningful pro bono program that engages many of our principals and lawyers. It is a pivotal plank in our commitment to supporting and empowering local communities.
Harwood Andrews Lawyers endorses and actively encourages employees who contribute to their communities and, as a result, build on the firm’s connection with local communities.
