Greg Tobin is a Senior Associate working in the areas of Planning, Environment and Local Government.

Greg joined Harwood Andrews from a national law firm where he was a senior associate in a large specialist planning and environmental law practice. Greg also possesses experience in real estate and liability law. 

Greg's principal areas of practice are:
  • Statutory and strategic planning
  • Contaminated land
  • Planning enforcement
  • Local government law
  • Land acquisition and compensation
  • Owners Corporation matters
Greg acts for a broad range of local government, private and statutory entities and is focussed upon the provision of practical commercial advice concerning the statutory and strategic planning processes. Greg regularly appears on behalf of his clients before the Planning and Environment List of the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal and Ministerially Appointed Planning Panels and Advisory Committees.

In particular, Greg possesses extensive knowledge in the area of retail planning having acted for proponents, councils and objectors in respect of many significant metropolitan and regional developments.

Greg also has a special interest in contaminated land and landfill issues. Greg regularly represents clients in respect of notices under the Environment Protection Act 1970 in respect of compliance and negotiations with the EPA.

Greg is experienced in the drafting of development related agreements and has prepared a range of agreements securing ongoing environmental obligations through future owners and owners’ corporations.
