Joanne joined Harwood Andrews Lawyers following significant experience as a litigator and commercial lawyer, practicing primarily within the transport, maritime and international trade industries.
Joanne’s commercial practice has a strong emphasis on business structures and business contracts.
Joanne has a clear appreciation for the need to focus on commercial outcomes when handling litigious matters, and uses her experience to assist clients to achieve pragmatic and cost effective dispute resolutions. To this end, Joanne sees the importance of gaining a thorough understanding of her clients’ businesses, their commercial aims and achievements.
Joanne has a Bachelor of Law/Arts and a Graduate Diploma (International Law) from the University of Melbourne. She commenced her career in law with the Melbourne firm, Middletons in 1996 and was admitted to practice in 1997. In 2006, Joanne joined the Melbourne office of the international firm of Holman Fenwick & Willan.
Joanne is also a Registered Migration Agent who specialises in business migration, regularly assisting foreign and Australian companies and individuals with their immigration requirements.
Joanne is an Associate Member of the Victorian Transport Association. She was the secretary of the Victorian branch of the Maritime Lawyers Association of Australia and New Zealand (MLAANZ) for a period of 8 years.
