Watch this space… fuel can be liquid gold

A well known transport company is awaiting the outcome of charges against three persons involved in the theft of diesel from their company’s premises. It is alleged that up to $2,000,000 of diesel was stolen over a prolonged time period which involved management and driving staff.

Harwood Andrews suggests that companies that use fuel accounts or have bulk fuel facilities onsite ensure they have stringent procedures in place to avoid misappropriation of fuel and perhaps implement random audits.
