Fair Work Australia Minimum Wage Effective 1 July 2010.

Effective 1 July 2010, the FWA minimum wage panel conducted its annual wage review and made national minimum wage orders to increase federal minimum weekly rates.

The key changes are as follows:

  • increase the federal minimum weekly rates:
    • by $26 per week; or
    • 69 cents per hour.
  • the national minimum wage order which applies to Award/Agreement free employees contains:
    • a national minimum wage of $569.90 per week; or
    • $15 per hour.
  • Casual loading rate of 21 percent;

  • Two changes for Award/Agreement free employees with a disability:
    • Where an employee has a disability that does not affect their productivity, the minimum wage is $569.90 per week or $15 per hour; and
    • Where an employee has a disability that does affect their productivity, an assessment will be made under the Supported Wage System.
